2025 was a year of meaningful technical progress at IDS. A few highlights from the past year:
First multi-head IDS systems delivered
IDS shipped its first dual-head Free Standing aerosol printers to Dalhousie University and the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, enabling true multi-layer deposition and higher output.
2.6 µm conductive features demonstrated
Through a project with SEMI FlexTech, IDS demonstrated conductive traces as small as 2.6 µm using a non-contact, non-cleanroom aerosol printing process.
Laser processing module launched
IDS introduced in-place laser sintering for printed traces, eliminating lengthy post-processing and enabling novel capabilities through simultaneous printing/sintering. On Dual Head systems, the laser pairs with a UV lamp for point-of-print processing of conductors and dielectrics.
Extended stability and repeatable production
IDS demonstrated 12+ hour continuous print runs and multi-week production stability of printed resistors, showing excellent repeatability of complex multi-layer printing processes.
Broad material compatibility
In 2025, IDS printed biomaterials, platinum, gold, ceramics, polyimides, polyesters, silver inks, adhesives, and optical coatings across multiple platforms.

Diverse and global system deployments
In 2025, IDS systems were deployed worldwide with installations in North America, Africa, Australia, Europe, and Asia. IDS NanoJet Subsystems were integrated onto a wide variety of motion platforms including former Optomec machines, nScrypt machines, Neotech systems, and 6-axis robot arms, reflecting the flexibility of IDS technology across motion platforms.
New patents issued
In 2025, IDS saw a wave of new patents issued, including newly granted US and foreign patents, reflecting continued innovation across our core aerosol printing technologies.
We are grateful to our customers, collaborators, and partners who helped push these systems into real-world applications. Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited to keep building reliable, integration-ready tools for advanced manufacturing.
